Update and Next Nest Check!
Our visits keep getting more exciting! This past visit we had Jonathan and his family, my kids, and Ms. Maddox and little Lily join us! We were once again able to observe different stages in the growth of the purple martins! Holding the little babies was exciting. We even saw a beautiful nest with fresh green leaves just waiting for eggs inside of the Green House Pod #2. Here are some pictures from our visit. The next nest check will be Tuesday, June 24th (tomorrow) at 10:30...HOPE TO SEE YOU THERE!

Welcome to the Meadow Wood Elementary Purple Martin Blog
After almost 3 school years, we FINALLY have our first purple martins that are nesting in our pods. This is a very exciting time for our students! Each morning the second graders check the pods for sparrow nests so that they can be removed in order to help the martins. The purpose of this blog is to provide the students a chance to keep up with what is happening in the purple martin nest while they are not in school!
